What is Wereldpaviljoen Steyl about?
Wereldpaviljoen Steyl (World Pavilion Steyl) is a cultural attraction in the picturesque village of Steyl, Limburg, offering visitors an experiential journey into the cultures of Ghana and Nicaragua. The museum was awarded the Silver ANWB Award in 2023 as one of the best outings in Limburg.
Visitors begin their journey with a simulated flight in a real Fokker 50 aircraft to their destination countries. In Nicaragua, visitors experience daily life and culture through films, games, Virtual Reality, and workshops about fair trade and child labor issues. In Ghana, visitors take a virtual bus ride through the country, experience village life through VR glasses, and learn about traditional medicine and storytelling. A special focus is placed on the refugee experience with a VR simulation of crossing from Africa to Lampedusa.
